Thanks for stopping by! My name is Amber James, I'm an Arizona girl turned Virginia-based actor, director, and international dog-spotter. I currently live in Richmond, Virginia with my husband, dog, and two cats.

I started performing when I was very young and a few years after that, my parents decided to move my theatrics to an actual stage. My budding love for the arts first led me to the violin, then choir, and I finally found my true home in a middle school musical theatre class. I graduated in 2016 from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Acting and made the move "back east" shortly thereafter to start my performing career in the DC area. Most recently, I received my Master of Fine Arts in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin University in May 2022.

I loved reading books as a young child because I could see myself within the story - each word I read nurtured my own empathy and expanded my creativity. And while I still love books, it was always a solo adventure - I craved more. When I discovered theatre, I realized that I could collaborate with other humans to create the same effect for a whole room full of people.
Creating art that connects people - to each other, to themselves, to the world around them - THAT is why I do what I do. Now, let's create some good art together!
